Patricia Huston, M.A., has been a practicing psychotherapist since 1987. During her years at the Kalamazoo Consultation Center, she practiced in a clinic setting, working with a broad range of diagnostic presentations and life issues, including major psychiatric disorders as well as anxiety and mood disorders, and emotional adjustment to closed head injury. Since her move into private practice in 1999, she has continued to focus on anxiety and depression, as well as to work with couples, relationship issues, perinatal grief and loss, and individuals living with cancer and their families. She has been trained in the Internal Family Systems approach to psychotherapy.

Pat states that she appreciates helping individuals and couples relate to themselves and each other in more loving and supportive ways, developing confidence, clarity, and creative ideas to approach their own lives and the lives of those close to them.

Pat practices with an ego-supportive stance, utilizing psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to therapy. Her style is interactive in nature and she is highly sensitive to alternative approaches to problem solving, maintaining a high respect for individuals' preferences and beliefs.

Pat's background includes a Bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College in French and English, followed by a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, and licensure as a Limited License Psychologist.
